Ron G.

Congratulations to our October Featured Driver of the Month, Ron G.!

Ron G. was inspired to become a truck driver because he was always intrigued with trucks as a kid. When he was 18, he drove his first safe truck hauling steel. Then in the late ‘70s, he worked from his uncle hauling sod and grain in Michigan.

Ron’s been driving over the road for 14 years now and he has been with Powersource for two and a half years.

He drives a 2015 Peterbilt equipped with a longslide, chains/straps/ratchets/binders, OD flags/banners/beacons, and a headache rack. He even has six cameras installed on his tractor for a complete surrounding view of his truck. Ron also has his tankers endorsement.

His favorite type of freight is the delivery beverage trailers because they are light and are excellent for fuel economy.

His favorite part about driving a truck for a living is the scenery. His favorite time of year to be on the road is the fall because the beautiful colors in the trees and mountains.

If you ever see Ron on the road, you will also see his adorable 2-year-old miniature pincher, Prince, riding shotgun. They are inseparable!

Ron lives in Oklahoma City, OK and has been married to his wife, Wini, for 46 years. They have five children – 3 daughters and 2 sons. All five of his children live in five different states. They also have 13 grandchildren!

Occasionally, when Ron is not on the road, you will find him bowling or hunting.
